At the Society's AGM in Burnham on 20th September 2008, the BL-BS committee announced, to general satisfaction among members, that the Society was adjusting its Rules of Shooting to "get back to basics". To this end, the Society will concentrate its activities on those forms of archery which the BL-BS was formed to perpetuate: two-way target and clout shooting. Our Society insurance was due for renewal on the 22nd September as of that date , the BL-BS insurance no longer covers fixed mark roving, flight or standard arrow shooting; speed shooting has never been covered. Other than this, the insurance cover will remain as it was for bow meetings organised by the BL-BS and activities run by BL-BS affiliated clubs including come and tries and arrangements for beginners with the Limit of Liability being £5,000,000 rather than £2,000,000. A new edition of the Society’s Rules of Shooting will be forwarded to all members with their Membership Cards in February.
